Virgin Vinyl "The Classic Rock Experience"
Joe Gillies - Drums Playing in a number of bands
throughout high school and afterwards has lead to a personally rewarding career in music. Several close calls with the national scene came with an almost
gig with the legendary Chubby Checker in the eighties and then later with the almost signed original band The Frogmen. Currently Joe also plays in an original
band called Jonnie Dog and the Dingos, which released their first full length CD this year, as well as The Del Rays which is a novelty act
featuring his two brothers in law. Currently doing a Frankie Valli show as well as other oldies standards, The Del Rays have brought their entertaining mix of
music to Florida, Colorado, Vermont and San Francisco. Being in Virgin Vinyl allows Joe to get back to his heavier
rock roots playing a lot of the classics of his formative years and having a great time doing it.
Ernie Padalino - Bass & Vocals Ernie started playing bass guitar in a rock trio at age 13. At age 14 he began performing in local bars
when he joined up with his brother Joe and then formed The Stone County Rock Band. Later Ernie formed the Party Line Band which played
the NJ/NY club circuit for many years up until 1983. In 1980 Ernie joined The Jack Fisher Agency and put together the tribute band Doctor Jimmy
performing music of the Who. In 1981 together with the band JEGS Ernie helped to record and produce their first album. That was it! Ernie was hooked
on writing and recording songs in the studio and gave up performing clubs for many years. He later went on to write and record in the studio with other artist
and put together the all girl band City Girls. Now back on stage and teamed up once again with his brother Joe on Keyboards he enjoys performing with Virgin Vinyl.
Joe Padalino - Keys, Violin, Harmonica & Vocals
Joe started playing musical instruments at the age of 8. He has performed in orchestras on the violin and was a volunteer string coach for the Garden State Philharmonic Youth Orchestra for several years.
Joe has also mastered the organ and played solo concerts throughout New Jersey for over 10 years for various organizations including The Carousel of Music Concert Series, the Monmouth Organ Society, and the Organ Club of America, to mention a few.
But Joe's favorite music is classic rock. He has performed on stage with many rock bands since the 1970's and still can't seem to get enough of it. He loves to work at replicating the perfect sound and harmonies for any song. from the horn section of Chicago, the organ solos of Boston, the keyboard parts and violin solo of the Who's Baba O'Reilly, the synthesizer and piano parts of Elton John's Funeral for a Friend and much more.
His greatest musical thrill is to perform for people. So come on out with your friends to see Virgin Vinyl and we will all have a good time.
Dean Summers - Guitar & Vocals
Dean's musical career starts back in 1974, when he joined his first band, MAD, at age 12. Through his late 70's high school days, Dean played in his rock band, Insight, performing at local dances and winning several Battle of the Bands.
From 1981 to 1986, Dean played in the band Race, which he co-founded with lead vocalist Marc Hoffman, original singer for the popular NJ band Prophet. Dean spent most of the 80's writing, recording and performing their power pop originals.
Race landed two original songs which Dean co-wrote, Is this Love and Nothing at All, in the cult classic movie The Toxic Avenger. Through the late 80's into the early 90's Dean performed with his band Passion, playing a mix of rock and jazz. When Dean received a phone call for his company
to enter a band in the annual consumer electronics show Battle of Bands in Las Vegas, Dean agreed and Virgin
Vinyl was quickly put together to take advantage of the opportunity. Virgin Vinyl took top spot for best band and Dean also won best guitar player, being awarded a brand new Gibson SG by Gibson Guitar's CEO. The band has been together ever since.
